NEW YORK (May 30, 2013) – The Sheraton New York Times Square, renowned for its award-winning meeting services and facilities, has revealed a $20 million renovation that has completely transformed the hotel’s 60,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces. With an array of meeting spaces ideal for events of any size, the new spaces can accommodate functions ranging from intimate corporate retreats for ten guests to upscale 3,700-guest galas. The renovation truly showcases the dramatic transformation of the hotel, revealing newly designed flexible meeting and event venues with a completely new and modern metropolitan aesthetic.

The completion of the meeting space renovation marks the final phase of the overall $180 million top-to-bottom renovation to the hotel’s 1,781 rooms and public spaces. The new Sheraton New York Times Square offers guests a modern design and sought-after amenities, such as a luxurious Club Lounge with breathtaking views of New York City, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a central location in Times Square.

60,000 Square Feet of a New, Metropolitan Look

Wilson Associates handled the design of these NYC meeting spaces, which includes a full renovation of the ballroom, meeting rooms and pre-function areas. This renovation revitalizes the hotel’s public areas and reveals a clean, fresh design scheme with an emphasis on light, warm tones and geometric patterns. Changes in the lighting and fixtures have brightened the spaces dramatically and create subtle visual interest.

The story of the new meetings spaces is very New York – modern, metropolitan and clean. A circular motif permeates the areas, from the patterns in the carpet to the large-scale chandeliers in the ballroom. This motif evokes a sense of movement, drawing guests from one space to the next. New York is all about movement –of people and ideas, and Wilson Associates has incorporated that resonating sense of fluidity into the design.

State-of-the-Art Technology for Business Meetings and Social Events

New technology at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel includes digital signage outside meeting rooms and in public spaces – with the ability to stream customized messages and live news – as well as client-controlled individual digital panels to customize lighting and temperature in each room.

With a dedicated Meeting Specialist team, the latest in A/V equipment and high-tech communications including a Telepresence suite, the Sheraton New York Times Square is an ideal choice for corporate functions and special events. Facilities include 43 meeting rooms, an Executive Conference Center, the 13,768-square-foot Metropolitan Ballroom which hosts up to 2,500 guests and the 8,715-square-foot New York Ballroom which holds 1,200 guests. Meeting planners will also receive a choice of one of the following value-adds: 1/35 complimentary rooms or 1/35 complimentary upgrade. Additionally, meetings booked by June 30, 2013 may double the rewards by:

  • Doubling the rebate, providing 4% off the master for room revenue and
  • Double the points, providing 2,000 points for every 10 rooms off master-billed room revenue
